Greene Central extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 4-0. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-45 W against the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly four points.

Greene Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Cetnar out in front who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Cetnar is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Deitrich Williams was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

As for SouthWest Edgecombe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Greene Central since Tuesday.

SouthWest Edgecombe lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alijah Lassiter, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Bridgers, who earned seven points and five boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Greene Central will head out to face off against North Pitt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Nash Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
