The New Richmond Lions's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They blew past Shroder Paideia Academy 49-18 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win New Richmond has managed all season.
New Richmond got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Izzy Hughes out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Kiera Kirk was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists.
New Richmond's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Shroder Paideia Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Richmond will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clermont Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Shroder Paideia Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Gamble Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Gamble Montessori's defense has only allowed 22.5 points per game this season, so Shroder Paideia Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Shroder Paideia Academy.
