Center pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colfax.
Center's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dominic Johnson, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Terrill Reid who scored 21 points along with four steals. Johnson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Manny Sims, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Twelve Bridges can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. Everything went their way against Sutter as Twelve Bridges made off with a 54-30 win. Given Twelve Bridges' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Sutter is ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Twelve Bridges, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4.
Things could have been worse for Center, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-58 loss to Twelve Bridges when the teams last played back in January.
