The Patriot Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Falls Church.
Despite the loss, Patriot saw an underclassman step up: Grace Honkus scored four points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Crystal Wright, who scored four points along with four steals.
Patriot now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Falls Church, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Patriot won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Connelly School of the Holy Child at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. Connelly School of the Holy Child presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Patriot in their respective states (Connelly School of the Holy Child is ranked 18th in Maryland, while Patriot is ranked 156th in Virginia). Falls Church won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Langley at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Langley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
