Sadly, the Northeast Early College Raiders are still looking for their first win of the season after 13 matchups. They took a serious blow against Crockett on Tuesday, falling 66-19. Northeast Early College was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.
Crockett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Smith, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Aliyah Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Northeast Early College dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crockett, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-19 record this season.
Northeast Early College does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crockett, they will take on Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
