On Friday, Burke is packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against First Baptist School at 7:30 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Burke took care of business in their home opener. They blew past Cross 26-0. Burke was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
First Baptist School had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Bishop England 35-7. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point First Baptist School had established a 28-7 advantage.
Their wins bumped Burke to 1-0 and First Baptist School to 1-0. Their offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a First Baptist School defensive front that amassed 4 sacks against Bishop England last Friday.
