Century waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vienna Eagles, sneaking past 4-2. For the Centurions, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.
Caden Crain was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Century hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vienna struck out eight times.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Vienna, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.
Looking ahead, Century will square off against Varsity Opponent at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vienna, they will face off against Johnston City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
