The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Central City will challenge Don Bosco on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It should be a fierce showdown as Central City are ranked 10th in the MaxPreps state rankings and Don Bosco are ranked 2nd.
Central City had a rough outing against Midland two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Central City steamrollered Springville 63-22. Junior Isaiah Damm, who rushed for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Central City's success.
Meanwhile, Don Bosco might be getting used to good results now that the squad has three wins in a row. They took the contest and then some with a 50-12 victory over Riceville last Friday. Followers of Don Bosco probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected seven blowout victories.
Central City took a serious blow against Don Bosco the last time the two teams met, falling 21-66. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
