After flying high against South Hadley last Thursday, Easthampton/Hampshire came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 56-36 to the Westfield Bombers on Friday. On the bright side, the 36- point performance marked the Eagles' highest-scoring matchup to date.
Despite the loss, Easthampton/Hampshire saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Patrick Larson rushed for 147 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one TD. Larson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Jake Kostek, who gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns.
