Pike County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jyderian Burney led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Markelis Hobdy was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but New Brockton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Opp by a score of 67-57. The win was familiar territory for New Brockton who now have four in a row.
Pike County's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for New Brockton, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
