If the Lowville Red Raiders were feeling good off their 55-21 takedown of the Carthage Comets on January 5th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lowville was outmatched by the Warriors at home and fell 70-39. Lowville has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ravan Marsell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Marsell pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Allison Lamora, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Lowville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Indian River, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowville will challenge the Mounties at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Little Falls has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Indian River's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New York (General Brown is ranked 60th, while the Warriors are ranked 50th).
