After flying high against the Trinity Christian Gryphons last Thursday, the Seton Conquistadors came back down to earth. Seton fell to Fairfax Christian 73-68. Seton has struggled against Fairfax Christian recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Fairfax Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Trought, who scored 20 points. Trought is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Siaca Bey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Seton's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Fairfax Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seton will take on Northern Virginia HomeSchool at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Virginia HomeSchool will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Seton is ranked 37th). As for Fairfax Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfax HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax HomeSchool will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
