The Manual Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 62-37 loss to Normal Community might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manual in their matchups with the Ironmen: they've now lost nine in a row.
Manual's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Antaya Taylor, who scored 22 points, and Nyanna Payton who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of A'yiana Maxwell, who scored three points along with two steals.
Manual dropped their record down to 7-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Normal Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manual will face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Peoria presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rams in Illinois (the Lions are ranked 26th, while the Rams are ranked 282nd). Normal Community is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st.
