Los Gatos (Calif.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 38-12 victory over
Pioneer (San Jose, Calif.).
The Wildcats were up 17-3 at the half after taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by
Brent Mc Coy in the first quarter.
Los Gatos saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.
Joseph Londre made a difference for the Mustangs. The junior tight end caught one touchdown.
LG's most effective player was
Joey Wood. The sophomore running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Pioneer's lone touchdown came on a 23-yard pass from
Drew Fryhoff to Londre in the third quarter.
The Wildcats went into the matchup giving up only 15.1 points per game. PHS's 12 points were well below its season average of 23.4 per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 28-21 win for Los Gatos.
With the win LG extended its winning streak to three games.
