It was a good run, but the Midfield Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montevallo. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Midfield has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Midfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Armonie Franklin. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with three steals. Franklin is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Riddle, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Midfield's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. As for Montevallo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Midfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Tarrant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tarrant is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Montevallo, they will head out on the road to square off against Thompson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thompson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Montevallo in Alabama (Thompson is ranked 13th, while Montevallo is ranked 148th).
