Even though the West Cowboys scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, the Marion-Franklin Red Devils still came out on top. Marion-Franklin walked away with a 72-62 win over West. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marion-Franklin.
Marion-Franklin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carmelo Dorsey led the charge by scoring 20 points. That's the first time this season that Dorsey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Black, who scored 15 points.
Marion-Franklin's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for West, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion-Franklin will be home for the holidays to greet South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Marion-Franklin likes a good challenge. West will be home for the holidays to greet Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
