The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs lost against the Dixie Flyers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Crimson Cliffs ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-32 walloping at the hands of Dixie. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crimson Cliffs has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Crimson Cliffs had strong showings from Kinsey Plewe, who scored nine points, and Summer Adams, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Kealah Faumuina was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds for Dixie. The game was Faumuina's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brinlee Bennett, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Crimson Cliffs and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Dixie, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crimson Cliffs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Enterprise at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Enterprise is ranked 68th, while Crimson Cliffs is ranked 86th). Dixie will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against South Sevier at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. South Sevier will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
