West is 0-10 against Briggs since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Cowboys will play host again and welcome the Briggs Bruins, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. West comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
West suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Walnut Ridge, falling 70-9. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 787th, while Walnut Ridge is ranked 380th).
Meanwhile, Briggs had to suffer through a rough 50-19 loss at the hands of Eastmoor Academy. Briggs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-0.
West's loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.9 points per game. As for Briggs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
West suffered a grim 41-16 defeat to Briggs when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point West was down 28-3.
