The Garfield G-Men's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 62-29 loss at the hands of Memorial. Garfield has not had much luck with Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several G-Men players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vincent Yukich, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yukich has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Edic, who scored three points along with nine rebounds.
Aziyah Flores was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and six steals for Memorial. Flores set a new season high mark in assists with five. Another player making a difference was Josue Rodriguez, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Garfield's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Garfield will head out on the road to face off against LaBrae at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LaBrae knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Garfield likes a good challenge. Memorial will be home for the holidays to greet Newton Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
