The Jackson Aggies had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They breezed by Fruitdale on the road to the tune of 59-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-3.
Jackson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyra Caves, who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Caves has scored at least 25% of Jackson's points. Another player making a difference was Angel Powell, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Jackson has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Fruitdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Jackson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Blount at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Blount will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Jackson is ranked 17th). Fruitdale won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Choctaw at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st.
