After losing to Nixon the last time they met, Weslaco decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Weslaco Panthers claimed a resounding 66-29 win over the Nixon Mustangs. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Nixon lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Delaney Guevara, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Hilda Quintana, who put up six points.

The victory was the third in a row for Weslaco, bringing their record for this year to 12-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Nixon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Weslaco didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-29 win against Laredo LBJ on the 6th. Nixon has also already played their next game, a 31-25 loss against Harlingen on the 6th.
