Softball Recap: Riverside Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Riverside lost to Sissonville back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Riley Smith was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Allison Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sissonville only posted a batting average of .261.

Riverside pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sissonville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Riverside has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Hurricane on the 10th. As for Sissonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-3 loss against Winfield on the 9th.
