They were outmatched by Archbishop McCarthy on the road and fell 66-35. While losing is never fun, Somerset Academy Central Miramar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while Archbishop McCarthy is ranked 59th).
Somerset Academy Central Miramar lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Khistian Mcrae, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Auguste, who scored 13 points.
Somerset Academy Central Miramar bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will take on Franklin Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they will be playing at home against Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
