Softball Recap: Exeter Wins Going Away Against Washington Union

Exeter won the last time they faced Washington Union and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Monarchs blew past the Panthers 11-1. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Exeter let Leila Whitworth and Maddie Avelar run wild. Whitworth went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Avelar went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most hits Whitworth has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kait Rios, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Exeter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Exeter's record is now 15-9. As for Washington Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
