After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Fairfield, Bunnell was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Notre Dame Prep Lancers 13-3. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leilani Navarro was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bella Caramanica was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Elisa Cabrera was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Bunnell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
