Cactus Shadows (Cave Creek, Ariz.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Antonio Marchica ran for a touchdown with with 10:00 left in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Paradise Valley (Phoenix, Ariz.) 35-20.
After taking the lead on an Marchica touchdown run in the second quarter, the Falcons were up 28-20 at the half.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Trojans took, 42-16.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Cactus Shadows, which was coming off a 24-21 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame Prep in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Paradise Valley, which notched a 35-14 victory over Kingman in its previous outing.
Cactus Shadows (5-3) goes up against Chaparral in a II Section VII game matchup next week, while Paradise Valley (5-3) locks horns with Notre Dame Prep also in a II Section VII game.
