After flying high against the John Marshall Monarchs on Tuesday, the Magnolia Blue Eagles came back down to earth. Magnolia ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-53 walloping at the hands of Union Local on Saturday. Magnolia has struggled against Union Local recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Local to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Moore, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Moore continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dre Saunders, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Union Local, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magnolia will be home for the holidays to greet Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Union Local will be home for the holidays to greet Harrison Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Harrison Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
