Rawlins County is 0-9 against Golden Plains since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rawlins County Buffaloes are on the road again and plays the Golden Plains Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Rawlins County will be strutting in after a victory while Golden Plains will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Rawlins County beat Quinter 61-50.
Rawlins County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Camden Franklin out in front who scored 22 points along with four steals. Franklin continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tayten Dewey, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Golden Plains came up short against Wheatland-Grinnell on Friday and fell 37-26.
Rawlins County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Golden Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Rawlins County couldn't quite finish off Golden Plains when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 42-39. Can Rawlins County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
