The Chenango Valley Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Oneonta Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Chenango Valley's win against Seton Catholic Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Saints 2-1.

Abby Cron made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Cron wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabrielle Cashman, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Oneonta was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Owego Free Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.
Like Chenango Valley, Oneonta also got a great game from a two-way player: Carley Mistler. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Mistler has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Jenevie Gallusser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kylie Carr also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Oneonta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owego Free Academy struck out six times.
The win got Chenango Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Oneonta, their record is now 4-2.
Everything went Chenango Valley's way against Oneonta in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Chenango Valley made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
