The Mapletown Maples's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hundred Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Mapletown ended up a good deal behind West Greene and lost 54-39.
Meanwhile, Hundred pushed their score all the way to 62 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 87-62 defeat at the hands of Bridgeport. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on January 5th (58), Hundred still had to take the loss.
Hundred's loss came about despite a quality game from Colt Sandy, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 25 rebounds. That was a full 35.5% of Hundred's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Trey Huggins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Even though they lost, Hundred smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bridgeport only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Mapletown's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hundred, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Mapletown strolled past Hundred in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 90-73. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mapletown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
