Baseball Recap: Cleburne Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cleburne won against Mansfield Summit on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Memorial Mavericks. Considering the Yellowjackets have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Cleburne's third in a row) raised their record to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Cleburne will take on Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 2.1, the Elks 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Memorial, they will challenge Marlow at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Outlaws' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Mavericks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
