Last Friday, Wilson didn't have too much trouble with the Seahawks on the road as they won 49-30. Given Wilson's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Seahawks are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Murray, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Johnson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Hartsville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 68-29 victory over West Florence. Winning may never get old, but Hartsville sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Hartsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brooke Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazzy Frierson, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Hartsville, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Wilson have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hartsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
