After losing to the Lumberton Pirates the last time they met, the Scotland Fighting Scots decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Scotland secured a 44-38 W over Lumberton on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Scotland.
Leading Scotland to victory were Dylan Lampley and Jaquez Caldwell. Lampley scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds, while Caldwell scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The contest was Caldwell's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tashad Russell, who scored 3 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lumberton still got an impressive performance from Jaiden Shephard, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. Shephard scored a full 31.6% of Lumberton's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Robinson, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Scotland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lumberton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Scotland will be playing at home against Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lumberton, they will head out on the road to face off against Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
