Baseball Recap: Burlington Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Burlington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wray, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-2 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lenny Ramirez was incredible, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Darian McDonough, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Burlington picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Wray, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington will square off against Limon at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for the Cougars: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Badgers have snatched up six consecutive wins on the road. As for Wray, they will take on Yuma at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Outlaws have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
