Basketball Recap: Amistad Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Eddie Edwards and Miguel Chaparro

On Monday, the Amistad Wolves came up short against the Simsbury Trojans and fell 54-45. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amistad's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Miguel Chaparro, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Eddie Edwards, who put up nine points. Edwards is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Amistad was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Amistad's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Simsbury, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Amistad will look to defend their home court on January 6th against Career Magnet at 5:30 p.m. As for Simsbury, they will head out on the road to square off against Berlin at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
