If the Pocahontas County Warriors were feeling good off their 62-34 takedown of the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pocahontas County was dealt a 77-49 defeat at the hands of Greenbrier West on Friday. Pocahontas County has not had much luck with Greenbrier West recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Pocahontas County had strong showings from Olivia Vandevender, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Calli Propst, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Vandevender hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Pocahontas County bumped their record down to 3-4 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Greenbrier West, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocahontas County will face off against Pendleton County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenbrier West, they will head out on the road to face off against Richwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
