Evansville Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against Evansville Bosse recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
If Evansville Central beats Evansville Bosse with ten runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bears blew past Evansville Reitz 10-1 on Monday. The Bears have beaten the Panthers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Evansville Central got a massive performance out of Devon DeJarnette, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. DeJarnette is becoming a predictor of the Bears' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-16 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Owen Schoenhals, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Evansville Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Evansville Bosse had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Dugger Union with a sharp 12-2 win last Saturday. Considering Evansville Bosse's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Luke Curtis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Drew Curtis was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jaxson Klass also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Evansville Central's record is now 8-17. As for Evansville Bosse, their record now sits at 4-12.
Evansville Central took their victory against Evansville Bosse in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
