Winter Park has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Timber Creek Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winter Park put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Colonial for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-6 victory at home. With Winter Park ahead 41-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Winter Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Conner out in front who threw for 53 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Aaron Williams was another key contributor, throwing for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Timber Creek made sure to put some points up on the board against University two weeks ago. Timber Creek blew past University 38-0 on the road.
Nathaniel Hull had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 78 receiving yards. Hull's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Kendall, who threw for 174 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes.
Winter Park's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points per game. As for Timber Creek, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Winter Park against Timber Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winter Park since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
