Despite the loss, Wabasha-Kellogg still got an impressive performance from Ileana DeAngel, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 62.1% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Paddock, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Kingsland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wabasha-Kellogg will challenge the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (LeRoy-Ostrander is ranked 392nd, while the Falcons are ranked 372nd). As for Kingsland, they and the Athletics will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
