Edmeston Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 39-38 win over the Fort Plain Hilltoppers. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edmeston Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin McEnroe led the charge by putting up 13 points. Landon Wust was another key player, posting ten points.

Several Hilltoppers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon VanGorder, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Benson, who had nine points.

Edmeston Central pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Fort Plain, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Edmeston Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-55 win against Schenevus Central on the 28th. Fort Plain has also already played their next contest, a 56-42 victory against Brookfield Central on the 28th.
