East Brunswick's Jon Gerhartz rumbled for the longest rushing play in Greater Middlesex - Red this season in his game against Manalapan last week. Gerhartz ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 117 on the day as his team fell to the Braves.
Piscataway was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after losing to Sayreville. The Chiefs came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 42 last week.
Zeke Perkinson was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 134 yards on 18 carries as the Bombers fell to Edison. Teammate Deion Miller added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
James Waldron put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles topped the Raiders. He finished with seven completions for 212 yards and four touchdowns. Waldron's favorite target this week was Jordan Dunn, who caught one pass for 72 yards.
Sidotti was the best wideout in the league this week as North Brunswick fell to Edison. Sidotti racked up two receptions for 87 yards. Jarai Wise helped North Brunswick's passing attack out by catching one ball for seven yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Stephen Karoly of Monroe Township is the league leader in passing yards this season with 653. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Sayreville's Perkinson has rushed for 528 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is TJ Taylor. The South Brunswick star has 10 catches for 271 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when George Najjar's team takes on Mark Zielinski's team. As it stands, the Bombers are in first, while the Raiders are in seventh.
Sayreville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Piscataway, 14-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bombers.
