It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Hillsboro Hiltoppers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They managed a 64-59 win over North Mac. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Hillsboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kearstynn Davis out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Ella Greenwood was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Hillsboro and bumps their season record up to 13-15. As for North Mac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pana is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. North Mac's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Vipers at 11:00 a.m. on February 3rd.
