Franklin is 0-5 against Lakeview since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Franklin Knights will look to defend their home field against the Lakeview Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Franklin beat Conneaut Area 27-14. The win was just what Franklin needed coming off of a 65-6 defeat in their prior matchup.
Cole Buckley was on fire: he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Buckley really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
Meanwhile, Lakeview stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Reynolds for the full four quarters, racking up a 37-0 victory at home. Lakeview pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Reynolds had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Mitchell Tingley, who rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Tingley hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Aiden Osborne, who rushed for 27 yards and two touchdowns.
Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for Lakeview, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Franklin was dealt a bruising 35-8 defeat at the hands of Lakeview in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Franklin have more luck at home instead of on the road?
