After flying high against the Shaw Raiders last Friday, the Westover Patriots came back down to earth. Westover was outmatched by Tift County on the road and fell 65-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westover has scored all season.
Westover's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Kaiya Conway and Wykieria Holmes. Conway scored ten points along with eight rebounds, while Holmes scored two points.
Westover has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Tift County, their victory was their 19th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Westover will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Tift County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Thomas County Central at 6:00 p.m. Thomas County Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Tift County is ranked 13th).
