The Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to take on the Quantico Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolph-Macon Academy is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Randolph-Macon Academy has not done well against the Blue Devils recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Randolph-Macon Academy walked away with a 59-50 win over the Blue Devils. Given Randolph-Macon Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randolph-Macon Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chidera George, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. George is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bilal Kebbay, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Quantico was the victim of a rough 62-36 defeat at the hands of the Badgers on Friday. Quantico has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Randolph-Macon Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Quantico, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Randolph-Macon Academy against the Warriors when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 74-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randolph-Macon Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
