The Green Level Gators''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Green Hope on the road by a decisive 21-7 margin. Green Level lost against Green Hope in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-25 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Green Level lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Green Hope can attribute much of their success to Josiah Moore, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns.
Green Level's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Green Hope, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Level will take on Apex Friendship at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Green Level in North Carolina (Apex Friendship is ranked 93rd, while Green Level is ranked 252nd). As for Green Hope, they will be playing at home against Apex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Green Hope likes a good challenge.
