Two dominant backs in Kaiden Rodriguez and Kip Brigham are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Fort Calhoun Pioneers will take on the Wahoo Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fort Calhoun gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They put the hurt on Concordia with a sharp 27-7 victory. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Fort Calhoun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Welchert, who picked up 75 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 84 yards on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Welchert has posted since back in October of 2024. Adam Elofson was another key passer, throwing for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fort Calhoun was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 91.8 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 162.
Meanwhile, Wahoo got themselves on the board against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Friday, but Logan View/Scribner-Snyder never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. The Warriors pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Logan View/Scribner-Snyder had no chance of recovering from.
Wahoo's win came from a few key players Fort Calhoun will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jase Kaminski, who threw for 167 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes. 113 of Kaminski's passing yards were hauled in by Kaden Christen.
Fort Calhoun's record now sits at 6-1. As for Wahoo, their record is now 7-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Fort Calhoun has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 382.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Wahoo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 408.1 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Fort Calhoun was taken down by Wahoo 57-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brigham, who rushed for 129 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
