The Carson Colts lost against the West Warriors back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Carson's tough 69-47 loss to West might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 731st, while West is ranked 289th).
Carson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Ortega, who scored 19 points. The game was Ortega's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Blake McCall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Carson has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for West, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Carson is on the road again on Monday and play against El Segundo at 3:00 p.m. on December 18th. West won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mark Keppel at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Mark Keppel is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
