New Life Academy has won seven straight games at home, while Providence Academy has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, New Life Academy made easy work of Nova Classical Academy and carried off an 18-10 victory.
The team relied heavily on Noah Hahn, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten matches. Another player making a difference was Nate Duval, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: New Life Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Providence Academy got themselves on the board against Brooklyn Center on Monday, but Brooklyn Center never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Centaurs with a sharp 12-0 win.
Joe Berghult was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Nick Corbett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
New Life Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Providence Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Both New Life Academy and Providence Academy just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Providence Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Life Academy couldn't quite finish off Providence Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
