It was a good run, but the Fishers Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 54-46 to Carmel. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fishers has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Fishers still got an impressive performance from Keenan Garner, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Millen Mccartney, who scored 12 points.
Fishers' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-1. As for Carmel, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fishers and the Shamrocks will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in the nation (Westfield is ranked 88th, while the Tigers are ranked 85th). As for Carmel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrence North is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
